April 21, 2005 - EarthFax Completes Roadway Bridge Design and Construction Inspection Services

Salt Lake City, Utah –EarthFax Engineering, Inc. ("EarthFax") completed design work, provided construction inspection services, and served as Owner’s Representative for several vehicular- and foot-traffic bridges recently installed at a petroleum refinery in northern Utah.  Vehicular bridge load capacities ranged from 65,000 to 85,000 pounds to accommodate heavy equipment.  Using data acquired from site-specific geotechnical investigations, EarthFax designed cast-in-place footings and modular pre-cast concrete decking to permit flexibility and cost efficiency in the design and construction process.  We also designed and supervised the installation of steel grate manways to replace portions of earthen berms that had served as an integral part of spill containment structures in the tank field areas of the facility.

The successful completion of this project advanced the overall goal of eliminating underground product pipe lines at the facility and resulted in increased safety, efficiency, and profitability by reducing the potential for pipeline releases to the environment.
