68 The Remediation Story |
![]() |
| In
January, 2000, EarthFax received an urgent weekend phone call from our client Chevron Pipe
Line Company, informing us that a leak had developed in one of their main
transportation pipe lines. This leak occurred in a marsh area
immediately upstream from a National Wildlife Refuge, and migratory
waterfowl were expected to arrive into the area within 6 weeks. With
4200 gallons of fuel to clean up and wetlands and waterfowl to protect,
there was a need to act quickly and sensitively. Relying on our past
emergency response engineering experience, and our practical approach to
client concerns, EarthFax was able to complete this project in a manner that
was acceptable not only to Chevron, but also to each of the several local, State, and Federal agencies
that were involved.
